Specialist Literacy Tuition:
Primary and Secondary Setting

We are complex individuals and our interaction with learning is unique. There are many reasons why some students struggle to develop their literacy skills.

Creativity growth, better using brain function and memory improvement concept. Creativity

Traditional teaching practice in many educational settings does not allow our teachers the time, or specialist expertise to adapt lessons for students who particularly struggle with reading, writing and/or spelling. Some students need systematic and explicit tuition to establish efficient sound and letter relationships and develop their understanding and application of our complex English Language, in both reading and writing activities.

Specialist tuition does not require a diagnosis of disorders, such as ADHD, dyspraxia or dyslexia.

To provide support to a struggling student, my priority is to understand them and their difficulties. This is achieved in close consultation with families, the child and their teachers.

My Specialist Literacy Online Tuition is designed in line with the Dyslexia Action Learning Programme - a bespoke programme which revisits specific insecure literacy building blocks, enabling progress to be made without fracturing self-esteem. It benefits students with or without a diagnosis of a Specific Learning Difficulty (such as dyslexia) and is appropriate for Primary and Secondary age students.

Although traditionally specialist tuition is delivered face-to-face, depending upon your child's learning profile, it is possible to build their confidence and make progress through regular online sessions, using bespoke specialist dyslexic resources.
