Hello
I am Susan Campbell and want to make a difference to our young people struggling with learning difficulties
Initially specialising as an English teacher, I chose to focus on providing specialist teaching for dyslexia, literacy and numeracy difficulties, within a secondary SENCo role. Now, with a further fifteen years’ of specialist experience, supporting students with various learning difficulties, including profound numeracy challenges, I want to help families and schools as a specialist assessor and personal tutor.
Through '2 Learn Beyond Limits' I continue to offer personal advice and support across our primary, secondary, college and university education - enjoying a rewarding relationship with teaching teams, students and their families. My bespoke GCSE online tutoring programme has been designed to support students from Key Stage 3 to 4, enabling them to better engage with the traditional teaching in their classes and grow in confidence.
My school consultancy service also offers schools and colleges support with determining Access Arrangements, those students eligible for adjustments to formal exams, helping schools and colleges better understand the possible obstacles preventing individuals' progress both in classroom activities and formal mocks and exams.
I want to keep making a difference to our children and young people who are finding learning difficult, helping them understand what they can do to take control of their learning.
I have a postgraduate diploma in Dyslexia and Literacy, Special Educational Needs and Disability from Middlesex University, alongside the necessary current APC from PATOSS, required to offer diagnostic assessments. I am listed on the Specific Learning Difficulties Assessment Standards Committee (SASC) web site www.sasc.org.uk . I have current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificates relating to children and adults.
Please contact me if you would like an informal chat to talk through your child's needs.
My Priority
My priority is to identify the strengths and possible obstacles that limit the progress of your child; typically these could include difficulties with:

1. Low literacy confidence
2. Learning anxiety
3. Reluctant, slow or weaker reading skills
4. Comprehension
5. Writing (both fine motor skills and writing content)
6. Spelling
7. Memory and recall
8. Processing and retention
9. Concentration
10. Organisation
Learning success is rooted in the relationship that I build with my students and their families. The emotional welfare of young people is integral to their development, and they should feel relaxed and able to express themselves as they approach their learning.
Parents are experts in their children, therefore, alongside the child’s ‘voice’, your input is invaluable in understanding their strengths and the challenges they face.
In addition, our early learning activities identify critical gaps in their knowledge which builds their learning profile. Finally, working alongside their school curriculum, I can devise a bespoke programme to support their literacy progress.
As an Assistant SENCo in an inclusive mainstream secondary setting, I have had the opportunity to work alongside various professionals from different disciplines (speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, occupational therapists, psychotherapists) and have a wide range of strategies to support pupils in their learning. The greatest success is made when professionals work together as a team to ensure the best outcomes for your child. I welcome the opportunity to collaborate with my students’ schools and the professionals that support them (class teacher, SENCO, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, etc).
